2004 World Wide Agent Meeting

WWAM 2004 (Worldwide Agents Meeting) in Phuket, Thailand. We held our WWAM in Japan in 2002 and 2003, after holding it in Bali, Indonesia in 2001.

We intended to hold the meeting outside Japan this year, and we decided the location as Phuket (Thailand), one of the greatest paradises on earth. I am personally in charge of the Thailand market at A&D, and we asked our sole agent there, Diethelm, to assist us in holding the meeting there.

 

The theme of WWAM 2004 was "Products and Channel Management" We have announced a great many new models recently such as GH / HR-i - new analytical balances, New FG - new platform scales, MS-70 and ML-50 - new moisture analyzers, etc. One of the high-lighted new models that we announced at the meeting was HL-200i / HL-2000i, new compact digital scales with the pet name of "Nin*jya" As their cost performance is as high as A&D low cost economical scales, we emphasized the importance of channel development and management in each territory.

In the morning session of the second day, we enjoyed powerful, interesting presentations from each Agent, and we could share a lot of excellent information with each other. At the afternoon session, we split into separate groups and had product hands-on training for SV-10, MX-50 and AD-4820, our new programmable measurement controller. We always emphasize the importance of demonstrating to the customer face to face.

While we enjoyed sharing various kinds of information at the meeting, we also had a good time at the evening reception party, kicked off with a welcome message from Mr. Furukawa. Everybody enjoyed a buffet of international food while drinking, singing Karaoke and watching Thai traditional dance as a special show. At the end of the party, we held an Award Ceremony in appreciation of our Agents・great sales performance and efforts.
