A&D China (ADCH) Opening Ceremony
| |
|
|
The official registered name of the company is A&D Electronics (Shenzhen), but we call them A&D China (ADCH). ADCH is located in the Songgang District of Shenzhen City. The function of ADCH is to manufacture ME/HHC products such as electric blood pressure monitors. Their goal is to manufacture at the most competitive prices with A&D quality standard. There are over 270 employees now, and they are going all out to attain this goal. |

The Main Gate |
|
On 1st August was the day of A&D China's Opening Ceremony. As we approached the factory, we began seeing A&D flags along the streets from as far as 500m away, which impressed us with the feeling that all of the citizens of Songgang were congratulating us on our inauguration. We truly felt that we were entering a new era of manufacturing. Pretty girls wearing traditional Chinese costumes (called Qipao in Chinese) standing under a special red dragon gate welcomed us. The large banners hanging on the front building leapt out at us with their colorfulness. Bright orange red was all over!! This is China style!! |

Over 100 people (including the Government Officer of Songgang District, Component Suppliers, A&D Global Partners, A&D Staff and ADCH Managers) participated in the Opening Ceremony. Mr. Kenichiro Yasaka, President of ADCH, made the opening speech in Chinese explaining the mile stones they have passed, the organization and the philosophy of ADCH. We were so impressed not only with their strong motivation but his fluent Chinese. Mr. Hikaru Furukawa, CEO and President of A&D made a speech expressing his appreciation to ADCH staff and those who supported the establishment of ADCH. He also strongly encouraged A&D to head for the global market to take advantage of the unlimited resources available in ADCH. |

 The Office Building |

After the ceremony, we took memorial pictures of all the participants in front of the ADCH office building. As soon as the pictures were taken, fire crackers were suddenly set off. We enjoyed this Chinese style celebration very much - once we got over our initial surprise!! Then we toured the ADCH factory and office, and were shown the production line, packing line, quality control section and production control section. We were impressed with their clean environments, organized systems and the staff's enthusiastic attitude to their duties and the new enterprise. |

One extremely important point in overseas production is to lessen the difference of language and culture as much as possible. When it comes to ADCH, there are many young Chinese managers and staff who can speak fluent Japanese, and these Japanese speakers are posted in the main sections, so communication is very smooth. Japanese staff and Chinese staff always have a good relationship, and can work together effectively to fight any problem they may be faced with and to thrash out the best solution. Although it was only a 1 hour tour, we could feel that ADCH is a base that can encourage and support A&D strongly. |

The Production Line |
|
Looking back on my experiences at the Opening Ceremony on 1st August, two traditional scenes remain etched vividly in my memory. One is the red dragon presiding over the gate of ADCH, the other is the fire crackers. We believe ADCH will become a powerful dragon that can increase our production capacity, and achieve the low cost while maintaining the excellent high standards of A&D's quality. Also we believe both ADCH and A&D can produce wonderful surprises, just like the fire crackers; ADCH can surprise and impress us with more competitive productions, and A&D can give ADCH the welcome surprise of bigger sales volume!! |
