The A&D Flash Drive Interface collects your weighing results from any A&D weighing instrument be it laboratory balance, industrial scale or process indicator and stores the results directly to a standard USB memory stick. In addition to all your weighing data AD-FDI also adds additional information such as Date, Time and Sequential Number if so required. Data files are saved as .CSV files so your weighing data can be viewed directly from within programs such as MS Excel.
AD-FDI can be set up and working in a matter of minutes. The AD-FDI is configured for use with different balances and applications through a simple setup file stored on the USB stick. The user can create as many setup files as required in order to suit varying requirements.
For applications where data integrity is important, the FDI automatically creates a “tally” or “Alibi” file and appends a checksum to each data string. This file is stored separately from that of the users data file on USB stick. If the data is modified in any way, the checksum becomes invalid. The data checksum can be “tested" at any time and as many times as is required at which point the data is appended with the appropriate Pass or Fail information.
The FDI can be used “in-situ” and powered by the supplied mains adapter or alternatively used as a portable data collection tool and powered by its own internal battery. The FDI can be configured to work with many different balances and scales by easy configuration of the RS-232 parameters and only the specific part of the data you require can be selected from the weighing instruments data string.
