"Only from A&D" Showcased at Achema 2009

Achema 2009 (29th International Exhibition-Congress on Chemical Engineering, Environmental Protection and Biotechnology) took place in Frankfurt, Germany from 11th to 15th May 2009. Throughout the 5-day event, 173,000 visitors from all over the world came along and about 3,800 companies exhibited there. Despite the current global economic slowdown, the size of the show was unchanged from the previous show held in 2006.

A&D participated in the show to exhibit our new products with unique features that included the FX-iWP Water/Dust Proof Precision Balance, Pipette Accuracy Testers and the FZ-i Precision Balance with Internal Calibration.

The FX-iWP, a world first 1mg balance rated IP-65, was demonstrated in a fish tank (without fish inside !) and turned out a real eye-opener for visitors. The IP-65 protection offers a unique advantage for use in laboratories when you accidentally spill liquid over a balance or get it dusted with sample powders. As rightly dubbed, it is an “accident proof” balance.

You may be using micropipettes more often in your laboratory these days for more accurate liquid handling. But how often are you checking the accuracy of your pipette ? A&D was proud to introduce the AD-4212B-PT / AD-4212A-PT / FX-300i-PT range of Pipette Accuracy Testers at Achema. These are built around a high precision weighing balance, which use A&D’s patented SHS (Super Hybrid Sensor) technology and come with a newly developed software WinCT-Pipette. They feature above all ultra quick response that will lead to increased efficiency and less stress on operators when testing multiple pipettes in a limited time span.

The FZ-i Precision Balance was another new product in the booth, featuring an innovative air-driven internal calibration mechanism. The FZ-i utilises a compact SHS technology and coupled with a miniaturised air pump to drive an internal calibration mass, offers a small footprint - 25% more compact than the GX/GF series.

Many of our business partners from Germany and other European nations found their way up to our booth in a huge fair ground. Achema 2009 proved a great success for us, we were able to show quality products with technologies "Only from A&D".
