This year’s GPCE (General Practitioner Conference & Exhibition) was held at the Sydney Showground in the beautiful setting of Sydney Olympic Park from May 26th to 28th. This is the largest medical exhibition in Australia and is designed and held with GPs specifically in mind. There were over 150 exhibitors, attracting a large number of GPs to the event where they had access to the latest information on pharmaceutical equipment and services.
As a manufacturer of medical devices, A&D Mercury exhibited digital blood pressure monitors for both personal and professional use. Visitors to our booth showed a lot of interest in the TM-2655P, UM-101 and UA-787.

The TM-2655P is a fully automatic device and can take blood pressure readings very quickly, so not only visitors but also other exhibitors stopped at our booth to check their blood pressure.
We received a very enthusiastic response to our UM-101, when we explained that it was not a mercury column, but in fact a Mercury-Free Sphygmomanometer. There was a wide range of mercury columns and aneroid monitors on show at the GPCE but no product resembling the UM-101 could be found at any other booth. It attracted the interest of many GPs because even though it operates like a mercury column, no toxic material is used.

A unique feature of this exhibition is that GPs can purchase what they want directly from exhibitors during the 3-day show. Some GPs were so impressed by our UM-101 that they purchased one or two units on the spot. One of the strongest selling points of the UM-101 is that it meets Australian sphygmomanometer standards.
Our UA-787 was popular with visitors who had an interest in automatic digital monitors. In addition, we also sold some Wrist Blood Pressure Monitors and Bathroom Scales at this exhibition.
Keeping in mind that nearly every Australian has his/her own GP, A&D is focused on co-operating with A&D Mercury to supply suitable and accurate medical devices to GPs.
