From June 12th to 15th, A&D attended the 16th European Meeting on Hypertension in Madrid, Spain. This is a symposium held specifically for scientific study and more than 6,000 doctors from all over the world gathered for this meeting. This was our 2nd opportunity to display A&D products at this fair and as we had expected, this year was another great success.
Many interested visitors stopped at our booth to view and try out our BHS validated TM-2655P Fully Automatic Digital Blood Pressure Monitor (with printer). This unit is currently gaining popularity throughout Asia as a “nursing aid” for outpatients. The TM-2655P has been installed at numerous hospital entrances and/or in hospital hallways so that outpatients can obtain a blood pressure reading before their doctor’s appointment. They simply hand over their blood pressure reading ticket, which was printed out by the TM-2655P, to their doctor saving valuable patient time and lightening the workload of the medical staff.

A&D’s revolutionary UM-101, Mercury-free Sphygmomanometer, also attracted a large number of visitors to our booth. The unit operates in the same way as a Riva-Rocci mercury monitor, but the UM-101 was designed to be used as an alternative to the mercury column, while at the same time preserving the local environment and creating an easy-to-use product for hospital personnel. Our booth at this year’s ESH was inundated with questions from medical professionals trying out the UM-101. Many were impressed by the advantages of its adjustable display column and also remarked on the benefits of a mercury free sphygmomanometer, such as no need for filter cleaning as well as environmental protection.
Our UA-767PBT, which is a Bluetooth version of the UA-767Plus, also received a very enthusiastic response.
Due to the success of this 4-day exhibition, which was in large part thanks to our local agent Temple S.A., we had a wide range of enquiries to follow up on. I would also like to extend a special thank you to both Mr. Mauro Comotti of Intermed Italy and Mr. Mike Telford at A&D Instruments Ltd. UK for their expert help and support at ESH 2006.
